Prijesh Kannan a.k.a Prijesh Merlin; was born in Payyanur . He is a Guinness World Record Holder in Memory Power (10 People memory at a time),[1] He resides in Payyanur (State-Kerala, Country –India). Son of Merlin Kannan and Yesoda. Prijesh kannan has completed MBA from ICM-Kannur

Prijesh Kannan received the Guinness world record certificate for the Top Memory Power in the world from Dr Manmohan Singh (14th Prime Minister of India). Prijesh was blindfolded and 470 names written in a paper was read out to Prijesh. He was asked to recite the names in ascending and descending order which he did with surprising ease. He also received the Limca book of record for the Top Memory Power in India, from Oomman chandi ( Chief Minister of Kerala ). Prijesh kannan has broken the present record on 23 June 2012

Early life[edit]

Prijesh kannan was born at  Payyanur , a place in Kannur District in North Malabar region of Kerala State.[11][12] .[1] His father, Merlin kannan, was  a business man, and his mother Yesoda T P is a housewife.  He has an elder sister, Priya who is a pharmasist in Kerala. When he was studying at school he had no habit of taking down notes in a book as he he was able to recollect everything after school time. He primary education was at Annur Up school and then went to High school Payyanur .

 He described his start in Memory magic thus:

I started working when I was in 7th Standard.  My father helped me always. He wrote many names and wanted me to recollect it and that was the first training and motivation I received in this matter. If i go outside I will try to remember all vehicles moving in front of me. My dream was to win a Guinness book record.  For ten years, I slept only four hours using the rest of the time for practicing memorizing. I practiced meditation for one hour everyday and that helped me to sharpen my memory and widen the power of imagination.  I was inspired by world leaders like Gandhiji, Abraham Lincoln and our former President Abdul Kalam.  My father was another influence. .I devised a technique that helped me to study one chapter within ten minutes.  I intensified my practice and extended it to eighteen years.  Completing SSLC and Plus Two I did not join college but studied by distance education and wrote the final examinations working at DIC Kannur during that time.  Then I took MBA degree from ICM Kannur.  My interest in charity work started while I was styudying there.  We launched a forum named Alfa Soft Skill Training Academy provided soft skill training to BPL students of Kannur and Kasargod.  The entry to the Guinness world record was achieved with the hard work of ten years.

Personal life [edit]

Prijesh Kannan has received honor from Narendrmodi at Gandhinagar for Guinness world record achievement.  The Chief Minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy handed over to him the Limca Book of Record award.  The national youth award was conferred upon him by the then Central Minister K C Venugopal.  His hobbies are reading, and listening to music. He is single. Prijesh kannan has been regarded as an unassuming person with a name for refraining from political and psychological ploys and instead focusing on his Memory achievement .[24] This has made him a well-liked figure throughout the memory world. He acted in serials Harichandhanam and Sree Krishna and acted in various dramas and he is also trained in the classical dance form Bharathanatyam.   He has studied martial arts for 4 years in his childhood.
